I render the maps about once weekly (usually starting on Thursday evening). The data I use is usually about 24 hours old. So upload your data at the latest on wednesday evening (CET) to have it included in Thursday night updates.

Yes if you donate there is a full map of Europe for download.

By now I have worldwide maps. Some maps are for people who donate only (North America & full map of Europe).

The most secure way is to run a new .exe (and make sure Mapsource/Basecamp are not running)

Usually this should not happen. There are several ways to solve this.
1. click on uninstall.bat ("run as administrator" or it won't work). If it has been the map you just installed and it still not works then another map is responsible but not one you downloaded from openmtbmap.org. To solve it see 2.
2. Install Mapsettoolkit cypherman1.googlepages.com/home and delete any map you suspect maybe breaking Mapsource. To help you finding maps installed incorrectly click on "Check Registry". You can use mapsettolkit to reintall any map that didn't break Mapsource via the "Install" button to the right of "Check Registry".

Note As of Mapsource 6.16.3 stability has improved a lot and 6.16.3 is pretty hard to crash.

In that case I will need your OS, Mapsource Version, and which map it has been including the date of download. Well did you read through the tutorial? You can send maps directly to an external card reader, then it will be much faster than to your GPS connected via USB. Once exportet as gmapsupp.img, you can combine several gmapsupp.img with gmaptool. Read gmaptool documentation on how to do that. It's not trivial for beginners….
Autorouting does not work well on my GPS / Different to Mapsource
Have you read through About–> Autorouting? Try setting the same settings (start with Car/Motorcycle and enable/disable "avoid toll roads", and use "faster route"). The main difference is that Mapsource can calculate longer routes without inbetween points and calculates faster. The only unit currently having more or less it's own mind is the Garmin Edge series, which also has no "avoid toll roads" option to set to deactivate routing over non "trekking bike suitable" ways.
etrex x0 is a special case.
Mapsource or my GPS (PNA) crashes on calculating a route, or does not react anymore
Autorouting is very complex. This is a well known problem for which there is no solution (yet). Both Mapsource and the GPS units are quite limited in calculation power.
Try to route over shorter distances. The better the OSM Coverage is in your area, the more likely a long route will be calculated. The bicycle mode further makes route calculation over longer distances even worse as it excludes many roads from routing.
Commercial Maps like City Navigator or OSM maps made for car use work better because they use highway=motorway and highway=trunk for long distances and thereby reduce the number of times you have to turn. There is a maximum limit of 100 turns to reach your destination without putting inbetween nodes – but likely with openmtbmap the limit is more 10-40 turns depending on how well the area is mapped.
Note that the GPS may well need 1-2 minutes for longer calculations (and don't trust the progress bar, it's broken on many units, so just because it arrived on the end does not mean that the route cannot be calculated). The openmtbmap is not intended to autoroute you from city to city but autoroute you over nice trails on rather short distances. My goal is that routing works in well mapped areas on air distance of around 40-50km without breaking down.
I will try to further optimize to reach this. Currently if an area is well mapped it is rather 10-30km.
Also note the biggest problem we face. Many roads are not connected in OSM
If a road is not connected the GPS will not route you along. Please correct any unconnected streets you notice. (also connect gondolas or cablecars to streets so they can be used too for routing). .

Please have a look into GPS relevant forums. Good forums in english language can be found on www.groundspeak.com or www.gpspassion.com – in German language www.naviboard.de or www.naviuser.at. Also read through wiki.openstreetmap.org/ and the Openstreetmap forum (has Garmin section): forum.openstreetmap.org/index.php
In 90% of all cases your questions will be answered in the tutorials and/or are explained in the help file of Garmin Mapsource. Mapsource is relatively easy to use, but you will need at least several hours or even days to find out the full potential. Use Qlandkarte GT if your a beginner, it's easier.

Some areas/polygons are not rendered, or incorrectly, "ocean overflowing"
a) Sea is partially missing or overflowing: There is somewhere a bit of the coastline / lakeline broken. Note this can either be a fault in the data, or result because the geofabrik extracts are unluckily cutted – so that mkgmap places the sea on the wrong side.
You can make the sea polygon color (currently 0x10f1d) invisible by making it transparent inside the .TYP-file. Then you will have no more sea at all if it bothers you.
b) Instead of an area there is another area rendered. Please use Multipolygons to solve this. There is no way mkgmap can know what is above or below.
Mapnik and Osmarender have different implementation of Multipolygons and also support unofficial tags like layer=value. There is however no possibility to implement something like layer for Garmin maps. If several Polygons overlap, the definitions in the .TYP-file determine which is shown on top of each other. This has to be done for the whole map. I.e. it is hit and miss whether to show water over forest, or forest over water. So depending on the TYP-File some maps for Garmin will show areas in some places and drop others, and the other way around. BTW also maps sold by Garmin heavily (even much worse) suffer from this problem.

This will happen from time to time. Usually there are some big bugs in the map, that will cause mkgmap, the map compiler to break constructing the tile. Usually those places get fixed up soon, so wait for another update to see whether they are fixed. Otherwise try to find the error yourself, I don't have enough time to analyse such errors. Else address yourself to the mkgmap mailinglist with a explicit bug description (try to use the mkgmap splitter with very low –max-nodes value, to find the offending area)

You can change your Typfile using maptk. Basically anything of the layout can be changed without changing the maps. This is rather advanced however, note that I will not help you on that, but the GPS Forums are full of advice on this.
Make maps compatible with Basecamp on Mac OSx:
Extract the .exe (lzma packed – use e.g. total unarchiver) and feed the output to gmapibuilder (google it). If you have a windows installation you could alternatively install them regulary, and the use the "garmin map converter" to convert the maps into the .gmap format. The garmin map converter can be downloaded at Garmin. Better use Qlandkarte GT instead though (so you don't even need to convert the maps). I will not offer maps in Mac OSx compatible format due to missing resources and Qlandkarte GT being available for Mac OSx as easiest solution.

I have downloaded and install mtbniedersachsen.7z.zip from 19 Febr. using thin_typfile. South “niedersachsen” images are OK, however the image north-east (north-east of Hannover has a blue background on mapsource as well as on etrex.

ich hab nen Edge 705 und das Problem, dass meine Karte die ich vom Nuvi habe auf dem Edge alles um ca. 200m versetzt anzeigt. Die Karte habe ich hier in China zusammen mit dem Nuvi gekauft und auf dem Nuvi funzt es gut. Soweit ich gelesen habe hängt dies damit zusammen, dass in China elektronische Karten nicht 100%ig stimmen dürfen!? Daher der Offset. Für Navigationsaufgaben wiederum ist es aber erlaubt und das Nuvi hat deshalb in der Firmeware einen passenden Offset untergejubelt bekommt. Meine Frage nun: Weisst Du evtl. einen brauchbaren Workaround den ich vornehmen könnte? Entweder an der Karte oder wegen mir auch am Edge?
Garmins Support war diesbezüglich ähnlich gut wie in Sachen nicht funktionierender barometrischer Höhenkorrektur

Sorry, AFAIK kannst du nur versuchen irgendwie die Firmware umzuflashen — must halt mal in chinesischen Foren schauen ob es dazu etwas gibt, bzw dir selber Karten mit Offset erstellen (wobei dies auch nicht einfach sein duerfte – frag nicht mich wie das geht).

erstmal vielen, vielen Dank an die Macher diese Seite. Das Programm und die Karten funktionieren klasse. In nutze in MapSource die Openmtbmap’s. Hierzu eine Frage: Ist es möglich, die Darstellung der Karten unmittelbar IN MapSource durch Satellitenbilder zu ergänzen. Also eine GLEICHZEITIGE Darstellung der Openmtbmaps’s und Satellitenbilder. Die Optionen “Ansicht- In Google Earth anzeigen” und “Satellitenbilder unter maps.google.de anzeigen” kenne ich. Manko hierbei ist aber, dass ich die Satellitenbilder erst im Nachhinein sehe. Die erschwert die Routenplanung. Ideal wäre also eine Hybriddarstellung aus Openmtbmaps-Karten und Satellitenbildern, wie man sie auch aus OpenMaps kennt.

Beim Übertragen aus Mapsopurce ins GPS dann die entsprechenden Kacheln auswählen (nicht per Linksklick sondern durch Ziehen bei gedrücker linker Maustaste)
Oder habe ich deine Frage falsch verstanden?

Du kannst mehrere Karten in deinem GPS kombinieren.
d.h. zusätzlich z.B. Frankreich Karte laden und installieren.
Im Mapsource dann die Kacheln aller Karten (z.B. Alps und Frankreich), die dich interessieren zusammenklicken und ans GPS senden.
Leider kann man im Mapsource immer nur eine Karte gleichzeitig darstellen.

I have tried to install “openmtbmap_netherlands_22.01.2010″ and “openmtbmap_nl_srtm” into MapSource and GPS and some issues occurred.
1. Create [install_openmtbmap_NLD_srtm_22-10-2010.bat]
I did use [create_mapsource_installationfiles.bat].
This file contains:

Issue:
%date% returns: “do 28-10-2010″ (Windows Vista, Regional Settings = Dutch)
(“do” is short for Donnerstag)
So “%date%” contains a space.
This results in an incorrect batch file “install_openmtbmap_NLD_srtm_do”
containing:

echo Adding registry keys. 28-01-2010.bat

I have resolved this issue by changing “%date%” into “22-01-2010″.

4. Send the Maps with Mapsource to GPS
Send the maps with Mapsource (remember to left click and drag instead of simply left click) to GPS (Etrex Vista HCx):
– Contourlines are OK;
– Moving around the Map using Map Pointer: no Height Information available;
– Creating a Route, no Height Information (Profile) available.
Is it correct that I don’t see the Height Information, other than the Contourlines?

2. Will have to look again, that it is not getting registered. gmt.exe cannot properly write tdb/mdr/mdx entries so address search cannot work for combined maps.
3. Not solvable, there is no height information. I still do wonder why the field is not grayed out.

2. I do not understand what you did here. Did you maybe use register/unregister address search which came along with the normal maps, for the newly created mapset? That will certainly crash something.
3. Using Mapsource 6.13.x it brings up an empty profile, 6.15.x crashes Mapsource. I don’t understand why it’s not greyed out here.

ein riesengroßes Lob für diese Seite! Ich habe fast alle hinbekommen, was ich so brauche. Alle Karten, die ich brauche, sind in Mapsource. Jetzt wollte ich die SRTM Daten und Karten zusammen in Mapsource integrieren. Leider bekam ich dann eine Fehlermeldung (siehe unten). Dort steht, dass ich mich an dich wenden darf
Ich habe das mit den Karten “Deutschland” und “Alpen” versucht und jedesmal kam die Fehlermeldung. Ich habe alle Kacheln (6xxxxxxxx.img), das create_mapsource_installationfiles.bat und das wide.typ in das SRTM Verzeichnis kopiert. Danach das .bat File ausgeführt und habe folgende Fehlermeldung bekommen.
In der Fehlermeldung sehe ich noch, dass das File mapset00.mp geschrieben wird. Das mapsettoolkit meldet aber:
mapset.mp nicht gefunden

Kannst du mal gmaptool (gmt.exe) updaten auf 0.48a und es dann noch einmal versuchen. Bitte in jedem FAll nochmal antworten.
Das Problem liegt IMHO an der veralteten gmaptool version, da maptk mapset.mp erwartet, aber mapset00.mp erstellt wurde (als Workaround mapset00.mp in mapset.mp umbenennen und nochmal durchlaufen lassen).

das Umbenennen alleine hat nicht funktioniert, da das .bat File die alten Files immer wieder löscht. Ich mußte das .bat File anpassen und die Zeilen, die die alten Files löschen auskommentieren. Dann konnte ich das install-batch File erzeugen. Dort mußte ich allerdings wieder den mapset.mp Filename ändern (von mapset00.mp in mapset.mp). Danach war alles OK und ich konnte die Karten mit Höhenlinien in Mapsource integrieren.
Ich hatte gmt.exe V0.47. Das ist die Version, die in deinen .zip Files mitgeliefert wird.
Das Update auf 0.48 habe ich nicht gemacht, da mein Virenscanner laut aufgeschrien hat, als ich das File downgeloadet hatte. Somit habe ich es sofort wieder gelöscht.

Ich versuchen un über eine Distanz von ca. km zu routen und mapsource schlägt mir eine Route auf Radwegen, aber nicht auf kleinen Wanderwegen / “trailähnlichen” wegen vor.
ich habe schon verschiedene Einstellung getestet. was ist für mtb deiner Meinung nach DIE Beste?

Die Prioritaet ist etwa aehnlich. Ab naechstem Update gibt es noch zusaetzliche Praeferenz fuer Wege mit mtb:scale. Routing funktioniert am besten mit car/motorcycle und “fastest route”. Alternativ mit bicycle und “fastest route/schnellste Strecke”. Mapsource Slider in Ruhe lassen oder Richtung Highways/Autobahn und alle Haken bei Vermeidungen entfernen.

bin ein Neuling und habe ein Problem mit der Anzeige geladener Karten in mein Garmin Oregon 300. Die Karten werden ordnungsgemäß übertragen und in den Einstellungen des Oregon angezeigt. Wenn ich eine der Karten auswähle, bleibt in der Kartenansicht jedoch alles weiss. Ich kann gar keine Kartendetails sehen. Dies funktioniert nur bei der vorinstallierten Karte. Das habe ich gemacht:
1.) Installation Mapsource 6.15.7
2.) Installation der Karten Bayern und Alpen

7. Habe dann das gleiche nach Installation von Mapsource 6.13.6 versucht, leider mit dem gleichen Ergebnis.
Im Verzeichnis \Garmin meines Oregon wird nach der Übertragung der Kartendaten aus Mapsource nur ein neues File (gmsupp.img) angelegt. Ist dies ausreichend oder fehlt evtl. etwas?
Wer kann mir helfen, bzw. hat eine Idee?

habe den Fehler gefunden, echt banal, aber steht leider nirgends beschrieben: auf das Gerät geladene Karten werden erst dann angezeigt, wenn ein ausreichender Satellitenempfang besteht. Da die vorinstallierte Karte auch ohne Empfang angezeigt wird, bin ich da natürlich zunächst nicht drauf gekommen.

habe jetzt mit dem TYP Editor bei versucht, die Darstellungsreihenfolge von residential zu ändern. d.h. habe sie von 3 auf 4 gesetzt –> funktioniert, d.h. ist jetzt auch innerhalb eines forest Polygons zu sehen. –> evtl. eine Anregung an dich, das genau so zu machen…
Beim Laden des clasalp.TYP Files zeigt der Editor ein paar Fehlermeldungen:
1. Header is in OLD format, but DrawOrder sections uses short types with subtype bitmap. It will be converted automatically.
2. Corrupted file or file in unknown format! Last address in TYP file is 0xe36e, but first datablock in TYP ends at address 0xe1c1!
3. Unknown datablock #1 at 0x0000e1c2: ; 00000000 00 00 4D 61 70 54 6B 20 – 32 2E 36 2E 34 00 ..MapTk 2.6.4.
Ich kann nicht beurteilen, ob das irgendwie kritisch ist…
Probs gibt es beim Editieren des Polygons #102 (farm) [tidal gully] welches Polygontyp 0×110 (subtyp 0×19) hat. Entweder kann der TYP Editor keine Polygontypen über 10f verarbeiten oder dein Typfile nutzt Polygontypen außerhalb des erlaubten Wertebereiches. Da im clasalp.TYP eine ganze Menge Polygontypen mit 0×110 vorkommen, vermute ich ersteres.
Gibts eigentlich irgendwo eine Dokumentation zum Aufbau eines TYPfiles?

Am Multipolygonhandling von mkgmap wird zurzeit eh gearbeitet. Hoffentlich loest dies die Probleme. Die Fehlermeldungen braucht man nicht beachten. Ich benutze maptk das ist toleranter und die extended types sind hier auch besser implementiert (wobei beide Editoren ihre Fehler haben). Du kannst dir vom “Online Editor” den Sourcecode anschauen, eine Dokumentation an sich gibt es aber nicht. Garmin hat hier auch immer wieder Sachen veaendert.

Very interested in your site and the effort you have put into OMtbM. One thing though, what happens if this site disappears? There is currently a single point of failure for the maps as you refuse to publish the style-file for mkgmap. Maybe more people would be encouraged to tag MTB trails if they knew their efforts were more secure. I certainly would.

leider fehlen in der Karte alle Rettungspunkte (highway = emergency_access_point, http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Demergency_access_point), auch wenn diese korrekt in OSM eingetragen sind. Weder unter Mapsource noch auf dem GPS direkt kann man die finden… Allerdings denke ich, dass gerade solche Punkte wichtiger sind als vieles andere (gate, picnic_site, …). Wäre super, wenn man die auch in der Karte hätte!

Ich habe die Karte gestern bei einem längeren Waldspaziergang mit dem Hund getestet (Bottrop, Köllnischer Wald). Selbst ein Routing über “Trampelpfade” funktionierte perfekt. Kein Vergleich zur Garmin Topo V3. Lediglich die Darstellung war etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Super Sache, weiter so!

was ist eigentlich mit copyrights wenn wasserläufe und andere infos, die nicht selber abgefahren oder gegangen werden können aus bestehenden karten (z.B. Garmin topo d) manuel nachgeclickt werden und dann upgeloadet werden??? man bekommt ja fehlermeldungen da die zeitangabe fehlt und die tracks sind nicht mehr da, aber der wasserlauf ist trotzdem übernommen worden. kann das rückverfolgt werden? diese daten sind für wanderer und biker relevant. fehlen sie, macht die karte weniger sinn. kopiert man sie bewegt man sich auf dünnem eis – gelle?

erstmal ein dickes Lob an dich für deine Arbeit. Weiter so.
Eine Sache stört mich an allen Karten, die ich bisher so auf mein Etrex Vista HCX geladen habe. Wenn ich einen Track nachfahren will, kann ich den auf dem GPS rot/grün/blau einfärben. Leider haben Straßen/Flüsse die gleichen Farben und daher ist mein Track nur noch sehr schwer von Straßen zu unterscheiden und ich habe mich schon einige male verfahren.
Mein Wunsch wäre eine Karte ohne z.B. rote Objekte dann würde ich meine Tracks rot machen. Kann ich mir so was selbst aus deinen Karten ableiten? Der Rest ist ja super.

Du kannst das Typfile bearbeiten wenn du willst, die Farben und Darstellung kannst du dann frei waehlen – musst allerdings bei jedem Kartenupdate das Typfile neu aendern, bzw damit leben dass evtl ein paar Sachen gar nicht dargestellt werden.

Nun meine Frage:
Benötige ich von Garmin selbst nmur die Basemap ODER
MUSS ich noch eine weitere Karte(citynavigator…) haben?

Nein, du brauchst dir keine Karten kaufen. City Navigator macht dann Sinn, wenn du den Edge 705 auch im Auto benutzen willst – oder eine Addresssuche mit Hausnummern brauchst (weil die werden noch lange nicht in osm zu finden sein). Fuers Auto macht es aber mehr Sinn stattdessen einfach noch das billigste Nuvi mit City Navigator inkludiert zu kaufen (billiger, und groeßeres Display im Auto). Du solltest dir nur ueberlegen ob du ein edge 705 oder nicht vielleicht doch ein Oregon 300 nehmen willst. Pros und Cons dazu findest du unter naviboard.de oder in der GPS section von mtb-news.de im Forum (wo vor allem das edge 705 sehr gut betrachtet ist).

bin in den letzen tagen auf deine seite gestoßen und hab viel hier gelesen und auch auf anderen seiten. bin begeisternt von dem projekt !!!
Nun mein Problem: Ich habe mir erst einmal die mtbmap für nrw runtergeladen und diese in mapsource installiert. hat auch geklappt. in dieser karte würde ich nun gerne bestimmte wege farbig stark hervorheben. und zwar wege, die ich mit dem mtb gefahren bin. diese liegen mir als track vor. aus einem track habe ich mit mapedit nun eine eine *.img datei erstellt. diese habe ich nun in den ordner der mtbmap nrw kopiert und dann nochmal die karte in mapsource registriet. meine karte ist nun auch irgendwie integriet, aber nicht zu sehen, nur, wenn ich den kartenausschnitt auf hoher zoomstufe verschiebe, sehe ich meinen “track” für kurze zeit. er scheint halt in einer darunterliegenden ebene zu sein. nun, wie kann man das ändern?
auf dem gps ist es ja kein problem, da man dort einfach beide karten reinladen kann, aber mapsource halt immer nur eine karte anzeigt.
ein ähnliches problem habe ich (auch wenn sich die karten dort nicht überdecken, wenn man z.b. die karten der “alpenländer” bei mapsource als einen kartensatz integrieren möchte. auch hierfür habe ich noch keine anleitung gefunden.
für einen tipp oder einen brauchbaren link würde ich mich freuen, da man als anfänger mit dem filtern der informationen überfordert ist.

Now we have moved back to Winter time in UK the white display is too bright at night on my bike on the way home in the evening. I suspect just changing the background to black would be acceptable.

noch mal zum Karten-Darstellungsproblem: Ich habe die TOPO V2. Die gesetzten Häckchen in den Karteneinstellungen kann ich nicht deaktivieren! Die bleiben immer gesetzt.

Ich habe ein Problem mit der Kartendarstellung auf dem Edge 705: Ich übertrage beispielsweise zwei Karten (TOPO de und openmtbmap) aufs GPS. Unter Einstellungen sind dann beide Karten aktiviert. Dieser Zustand ist nicht mehr änderbar. Ich sehe dann in der Kartenansicht quasi beide Karten, allerdings nicht mit allen Informationen. Habe auch schon ältere FW als die aktuelle 2.90 aufs gerät gespielt, aber ohne Erfolg.
Ist dir ein solches Problem schon mal begegnet?

Eigentlich sollte immer nur eine Karte sichtbar sein außer bei identer DP. Ist dies die Topo D v1? Die hatte glaube ich DP 25, kann also hier zu Probs kommen wenn man beide aktiviert laesst. Einfach eine deaktivieren dann gehts.
I like the maps – excellent job. However, I do not like rude comments such as RTFM etc. throughout the manual and the FAQ (especially if there are between-the-lines comments about not getting help) since they are very painful to read and, very likely, keep volunteers away – at least it makes me think whether or not to offer help improving the English manuals (which by the way could use some work;-).

trotz dem befolgen der Anleitung mit dem Halten der linken Maustauste bei der Auswahl der Karten habe ich mit der aktuellen Version Probleme alle Karten zu installiern. Es wird jeweils nur die openmtb. in Mapsource angezeigt. Habe Mapsource sowie Openmtb auf zwei Xp Notebooks installiert. Mit der Openmtb vom Juni 2009 hat noch alles ohne Probleme geklappt. Das Problem habe ich ERST seit dem neuesten Update.

bin kürzlich von nem Legend hcx auf nen Oregon300 umgestiegen – beim Oregon kann man “Profile” anlegen oder/und bearbeiten – z.B. ein Autoprofil, wo die CityNavigator nur aktiv ist, Geocaching, wo nur die Topo aktiv ist oder… klappt auch, solange ich das Gerät nicht ausschalte – schalte ich das Gerät wieder ein, ist in ALLEN Profilen die openmtbmap aktiv und überdeckt alle anderen Karten – so muß ich wieder jedesmal in die Einstellungen und da, wo es nicht gewünscht ist, die openmtbmap deaktivieren…
liegts jetzt an der Karte oder bin ich mit dem Oregon noch zu unerfahren?
ich benutze die openmtbmap vom Anfang August, TopoV2 u. CitynavigatorNT2008
Oregon fw 3.15beta (originale fw 2.95 hatte die selben Erscheinungen…)
sufu mit Oregon und Profile hatte was anders gefunden und nur einen Treffer…

Do you have any solution for the diacritics? The OSM maps, in general, use the correct diacritics for many (all?) the languages. The Garmin maps don’t, so for the place names (towns, streets, objectives, POIs) they will ignore those diacritics. While on Garmin the letters with diacritics are replaced with the corresponding letters without the diacritics, on the maps you generate, they are replaced with question marks, which makes your maps for certain countries unsearchable (see Romania). Could you add another step in your processing to adjust the diacritic characters?
No, impossible. One can only decide on one typeset. That is codepage 1252, if you know a codepage that fully uses 1252 plus additional characters tell me, I think 1252 is best for general use, but if you know better I will try around – . This is a limitation on Garmins part

zuerst mal vielen Dank für dieses tolle Angebot an Karten!! Möchte gerne mitmachen und hab auch schon ein paar Weglein in meiner Nähe eingezeichnet und getaggt.
Meine Frage bezieht sich auf die Anzeige der POI’s in der MTB-Karte bei der Suche am Garmin:
Bei einigen POI wird der Standort (Stadt, Landkreis) angezeigt, bei anderen erscheint ein länglicher Code “Kart.-name: openmtbmap_dby_……”.
Die Tags in der OSM hab ich im JOSM angeschaut, die sind alle gleich, bei Restaurants z.B. anemity=restaurant//name=Neuwirt, bei Tankstellen anemity=fuel//name=Aral. Am Garmin werden sie trotzdem unterschiedlich bei den Suchtreffern angezeigt. Hab ich im Editor was übersehen oder liegt das einfach am Garmin?????

MOECHTE ueber create_gmapsupp.img.bat eine gmapsupp fuer Österreich und Bayern erstellen.
Der Batch verlangt die typ-files mtbxx.typ, whitexx.typ. Beide sind in den zip-files fuer
die zwei Regionen nicht enthalten ….
sorry, hab die typfiles umbenannt aber vergessen das batch zu korrigieren. einfach mit editor das batch anpassen. Naechste Woche wirds wieder passen….

Hallo, Gratulation zu den routingfähigen Karten.
Ich bin eher GPS Einsteiger und hätte da ein paar Verständnisfragen:
- Abbiegepfeile: nach welcher Logik werden die eingeblendet? Ich habe eine Route auf meinem Legend installiert, bei deutlichen Abbiegungen 30+ Kursabweichung gibts die Pfeile, bei einer “Y” Gabelung (<30° Abweichung) wo der Pfeil besonders wichtig wäre gibt es keinen Abbiegealarm. Warum? Kann man das irgendwie erzwingen?
- Ich fahre viel in Italien und wäre auch gerne bereit, Daten zu liefern. Frage: Die openmtbmap Abdeckung ist in IT ja noch nicht so dicht. Funktioniert das Routing auch ohne Straßen nur anhand von Wegpunkten? Vorliegende Tracks habe ich mit WinGDB in eine Route konvertiert.
- Gibt es Probleme wenn ich auf dem Legend OSM Karten und OpenMTBmap gleichzeitig für dieselbe Gegend aktiviert habe?
Ich weiß, viele Fragen auf einmal, habe aber sonst in der Community keine Antwort darauf gefunden.
Über eine Antwort würde ich mich freuen.

Abbiegepfeile, frag Garmin…..
Routing ohne Straßen geht halt mit Luftlinienrouting, im Geraet unter Setup / Routing. Also von Punkt zu Punkt. Aehnlich Track/Trackback.
Probleme, haengt von den Draw Priorities ab, Ich wuerde immer nur eine Karte aktivieren und den Rest deaktiviren. Probs evtl bei der POI Suche.
Beim installieren der Karten bekomme ich folgende Fehlermeldung:
‘cgpsmapper’ is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. File missing: mapset00.img, aborting install.
Ich habe es bereits mit unterschiedlichen Karten versucht – aber jedesmal die gleiche Fehlermeldung. Was mache ich falsch?

ist es eigentlich möglich die Kartendaten selber upzudaten mit dem OSm Komposer? Ich habe mal ein bisschen versucht aber nichts brauchbares auf die Platte bekommen.
Ich persoenlich finde OSM_Composer nicht grad optimal, wenn man sich ein bisserl mit Garmin auskennt, gehts ohne viel schneller und einfacher. Gibt ein paar gute Sachen, die kann man aber wenn man die mkgmap-dev Mailinglist liest, auch selber patchen und hat keine Performance die gegen Null geht, wenn man z.Bsp ganz Deutschland kompilieren will

tolle Aufbereitung der OSM, bin begeistert.
Aber noch was anderes: Ich habe aus den SRTM3-Daten der NASA eine Höhenlinienkarte von N35.0 W13.0 bis N60.0 O40.0 also quasi ganz Europa südlich von N60.0 gerechnet, die ich zur Verfügung stellen kann. Habe aber keinen Host, auf dem ich die Karte bereitstellen kann. Zur Karte: Kachelgrösse 0.25°x0.25° (14510 Kacheln); Interval: 20m minor, 200m medium, 500m major; Tool: GroundTruth, Volumen: 3.2GB ungepackt. Wenn Interesse besteht und genug Plattenplatz vorhanden ist, bitte melden. Ich könnte die Daten auf einen FTP-Server hochladen (gepackt).

Erstmal vielen Dank für die tollen Karten, danach habe ich schon lange gesucht.
Ich habe mir gerade die Dänemark-Karte runtergeladen und in Mapsource sieht sie wirklich toll aus. Nach der Übertragung auf das Garmin Colorado sieht alles fast genauso gut aus, allerdings ist der Wald schwarz. In Mapsource ist dieser grün. Liegt dieses am TYP File? Hat jemand das gleiche Problem? Kennt jemand eine Lösung? Da das Colorado die Tracks leider immer nur in schwarz zeichnet, ist ein schwarzer Wald ein echtes Problem…

Servus – vielen Dank erst mal für die genialen Karten. Ich nutze sie auf meinem Garmin Legend. Bei der Italienkarte (download vor wenigen Tagen) tritt allerdings ein mir nicht lösbares Thema auf: Ich kann die Karte in voller Darstellung mit allen Details in Mapsource sehen und planen. Nach der Übertragung auf das Garmin sehe ich dann allerdings nur sehr wenige Details und kleine Bruchstücke der Darstellungen. Die anderen Karten (DE und AUT) funktionieren auf dem Gerät aber gleichzeitig perfekt. Woran kann das liegen und wie kann ich das beheben?

um im MapSource auch ein Höhenprofil erstellen zu können.
Ist da was geplant?
Das Format ist unbekannt. Also nicht moeglich. Du kannst aber in Qlandkarte GT ganz einfach Hoehenmodell im .hgt Format mit der Openmtbmap verbinden. Ist natuerlich so nicht aufs GPS transferierbar.
Hi! Wirklich eine Super Sache die Karten! Vielen Dank für Deine Arbeit! Ich verwende die Karte auf meinem Garmin Edge 705 und hätte da noch eine Frage – gibt es für die Mountainbikestrecken in Österreich auch "fertige" Routinginformation, sodass man nur noch bei "Strecken" eine der Mountainbike Routen auswählen, und dann "nachfahren" kann? Das wäre wirklich ur super!
