Hi Felix, I just would like to thank you for all your hard work you've put into openmtbmaps. :-)

Is there a other way to donate to you? Amazon Gift? Bank Account? I wouldn't like to use Paypal.

Hello Felix,
Hmmmm....,
If I understood you correctly, you want to replace the JOSM menu items for highway=path attributes (e.g. sac_scale=demanding_mountain_hiking) with mtb:scale=3.
Yes, I'd like that too, because I am a biker not a hiker.
However, despite the arrogant behaviour of the guys that simply set the ticket to "nofix" and "closed", I sympathise with the notion NOT to include the presets.
I myself am managing a huge SW project and constantly get requests to implement this that or the other feature. Although I know that all these ideas are very valuable, I have to refuse more often than not, because the total concept gets frayed out (zerfasert) too much. Especially if there work arounds like, in your (our) case a plugin.
So, what's so bad about a plugin? I am not a JOSM expert, but the plugins I used so far, weren't that difficult to install or use.
JOSM itself is already quite complex and requires some thinking into the concept. Having mastered this, an additional plugin shouldn't be a problem. Especially with the help of a readme.txt file, anyone being able to install your phantastic map files should also be able to install a JOSM plugin.
What I don't understand, is that you are making a connection between "open sourcing" your lines-style file ONLY after the requested feature has been made available in JOSM. What has this one thing to do with the other?
Please don't misunderstand me, I am a great fan of openmtbmap.org, your work and have also contributed a small amount to your "help me buy a new GPS" initiative. But maybe you're wasting your energy in trying to fight "the establishment". I know, it's frustrating sometimes... but "howling with the wolves" is somtimes getting you much farther.
kindest regards
Chris aka XXLbiker
