I spend a lot of time working on the maps, working on this homepage and working on the OSM wiki/forums in order so that everyone can enjoy nice maps for mountainbiking. If you want to support me in doing that, then please donate to motivate me to continue developing.

How to donate:
You can pay via Paypal or via bank transfer. If you want to receive a membership, I prefer to receive payments via Paypal // Credit Card (though if you don't want to pay via credit card or paypal, you can also donate via bank transfer). If you already have a lifelong membership, or just want to support Openmtbmap.org without getting a membership login, then I prefer payments via bank transfer as this saves the ~5% Paypal commission (feel free to donate via paypal if that is easier for you however).
Note1: The login only works for either Openmtbmap or Velomap, but the premium downloads are always available on both sites. You can still post comments/questions specific to Velomap in the Velomap section on Openmtbmap and vice versa (this is due to both websites having different databases. People who donate 50€ or more, may email me and I manually copy the login to both sites.)

After payment you get a link sent by mail which enables you to create an account on Openmtbmap.org.
With this account you can access the premium sections/downloads and you can use the reply function on all pages, I'll try to answer all questions. If you don't receive an email for login within 5 minutes after sending the payment, please look into your Spam folder.
Donate 20 € for first year, then 13€ per year
Standard: First year support for €20, then € 13 for each year. You can cancel the payment whenever you like. (needs a credit card linked to your Paypal Account. – use the button under "donate a variable amount" if you have no credit card linked to your paypal account)

I prefer to receive donations for Memberships via Paypal because it is easier for me to handle them. For donations not related to a membership, or for people who do not want to pay via Paypal/Credit Card, I have opened up a bank account (which also drops the ~5% paypal commission)
In case you want to receive a membership please wire the money, and send me an email with your requested Username& Password and your Name. (note as it usually takes 2 working days for the money to be credited to the bank account I will send you your login data 2-4 days later). You can also put your Username and your email into the reference text (replace "@" with "AT" as @ is not allowed on the reference form), this makes it easier for me. (if you don't receive an account within 5 working days, drop me a mail (my email is felix -AT. openmtbmap.org).
Once the money is credited to my account, I will send you an email with your login data.
20€ gets you 1 year, 35€ 2 years, 45€ 3 years, 55€ 4 years, 80€ 8 years, 100€ or more lifelong (as long as I run openmtbmap.org) Membership Access.

Ich habe festgestellt wenn ich die Transalpinkarte in meinem Garmingerät(Oregon450) installiert habe, wird Sie in Basecamp angezeigt und ich kann mit der Karte arbeiten obwohl sie in Basecamp nicht installiert ist.
Wieso ist das das mit den mtp und velo Karten nicht möglich?

Das geht nur mit Karten die bei Garmin auf vorbespielter SD-Card gekauft werden.
Bei DVD Versionen oder der mtb/velomap macht es ja keinen Sinn wenn die Karte schon auf dem Rechner installiert ist.
wenn du create_gmapsupp_with_mkgmap.bat benutzt, dann sollte es funktionieren. Es geht generell nicht, wenn die Karten mit Mapsource/Basecamp/Mapinstall gesendet werden!
das bringt leider garnichts. dann heisst der ordner nur anders…
Dann hast du Garmin Basecamp / Mapinstaller for Mac OSx noch nicht installiert. reines umbenennen reicht, um jeden Ordner zum .gmap Package zu machen…
So sollte der gmap Ordner von “innen” aussehen.

Ich schaffe es leider nicht, die Appledaten zu installieren: ich habe mtbgermany runtergeladen und mit unarchiver entpackt. Dabei wird aber keine .gmap datei erstellt, sondern ein ganzer Ordner mit 10 Dateien und 4 Ordnern (die viele Dateien enthalten). Keine dieser Dateien hat die Endung .gmap
Was kann ich tun?
??? – du kannst mal versuchen dem Ordner ein .gmap anzuhängen. Dann ist es automatisch eine gmap Datei. Aber eigentlich dürfte das nicht passieren – keine Ahnung was für eine Einstellung du im Unarchiver vorgenommen hast –> entpacke am besten mit “hier entpacken” oder so ähnlich…

finde die openmtbmaps super.
Beim Wandern habe ich die markierten Wanderwege (farbig auf der Karte) mit den Wandersymbolen vermisst.
Gibt es eine Möglichkeit z.B. die Lonvia’s Hiking Symbols mit auf die Karte zu bekommen ?

Du kannst die Wanderwege prominenter hervorheben (dazu das .typ-file welches du benutzt editieren) – ich nehm an du benutzt das Hiking Layout/typfile?
Symbole – theoretisch könnte ich das machen, aber praktisch schaut es beschissen aus, weil es nur durch Anlegen von POI möglich ist – und da ist nicht wirklich konfigurierbar wieviele POI angelegt werden.

Europe_Contours v2.7z)entpacken will bekomme ich immer die Fehlermeldung “kann nicht als Archiv geöffnet werden”
Wer kann mir behilflich sein? Was mache ich falsch?

evtl ist deine 7zip Version zu alt? Du brauchst mindestens 9.04 – die Dateien sind lzma2 gepackt. Da du beide nicht entpacken kannst, gehe ich mal davon aus – und nicht dass der Download bei dir fehlgeschlagen ist (am besten immer Download Manager benutzen – ich empfehle FDM mit Firefox FDM Plugin).
Wo finde ich Kartenmaterial für die Kapverdischen Inseln?
Sollte auf der Afrika Kontinentkarte drauf sein.

wie kann ich die vorinstallierte Basiskarte auf meinem Garmin Gerät löschen, damit ich keine Routingprobleme beim navigieren habe.

am besten nicht löschen, sondern einfach umbenennen. Die Basiskarte heißt gmapbmap.img – umbenennen in gmapbmap.img.bak etwa. Sie liegt am internen Speicher im Verzeichnis /Garmin/
