o.k. only map data update this time, and changed the normal typfile (for most countries, some small countries not yet) to thin lines and made forest a bit more prominent (though not green). white.typ got a tiny bit more prominent forest. no mkgmap version update because I ran into ton of conflicts on compiling due to my patches. I will try to completely overhaul for the next map update. Currently I work a 60 hour week and this leaves not much time for working on my page. Also I got some work to do on a new openstreetmap project which I will publicize in around 2 month time.
Just gotta say that quite a lot of competitors after me introducing it, will have immeadiate problems to react to the market change it will bring. I’m just in the process of structuring it and maybe founding a company to get it done and get some funding for doing it.
Even if the monetary crisis will bring hyperinflation to the Western World starting in 1-2 month and changing more than we can currently imagine. Corrupt Politicians payed by the banking system and newspapers not admitting the monetary crisis will not stop me and our quest to open map data and open products… Proprietary sytems will demise…. Let’s take the chance of a huge crisis to overhaul our world to the better, a world where knowledge and not patents, copyrights, and money rule. Take part in Open Source projects like openstreetmap and use your power to make the earth a better place.

Wir nutzen die Deutschlandkarte und freuen uns auf Österreich nächste Woche.
Gibt es schon Pläne, die Kanarischen Inseln mit aufzunehmen? Auf der Spanienkarte haben wir noch nichts gefunden über Cran Canaria beispielsweise.

Karte ist super geworden.
Jetzt habe ich mal gesehen wie mein Mappen und Taggen sich auswirkt. Es ist das erst Karten update seit meiner Anmeldung bei OSM. Einige 100 km sind es schon seit dem. Ich werde dieses Projekt mit Begeisterung unterstützen und freue mich auf weitere News.

die Karten sind toll, aber es fehlen doch einige Radwege, die auf Papierkarten verzeichnet sind. Kann ich die irgendwie “beisteuern”?
Ja einfach bei openstreetmap eintragen.
Habe mir gerade das Update für Deutschland komplett auf mein Garmin geladen. Das Garmin meldet, dass die Karte vom 24.07. sei und ich vermisse Wege, die ich in die OSMkarte eingetragen haben, und die dort auch zu sehen sind.
Wie ist denn eigentlich das Timing bei dem ganzen Projekt ? Bis wann müssen Änderungen eingetragen sein, damit sie in dei nächste openmtbmap kommen ?

Dann hast du beim updaten was falsch gemacht. Datum ist auf jeden Fall 01.08 oder 31.07.
Stimmt, da bin ich wohl in das falsche Verzeichnis gerutscht. Jetzt habe ich ein Datum vom 1.8.09. Vielen Dank.
Magst Du trotzdem etwas zu den zeitlichen Abläufen sagen ?
Wenn Du Freitags neue Karten einstellst, wie “alt” sind dann die Daten bzw. bis wann müssen Änderungen eingetragen sein, damit sie in die nächste openmtbmap kommen ?
