I contribute this mainly to an article about this page featured on the portal page of www.mtb-news.de – the biggest mountainbike forum in the german speaking . hätte noch einen Wunsch : Ich bin öfters in Spanien und Andorra unterwegs und habe meine Trails soweit in OSM mit den MTB-Attributen versehen. Würde mich sehr freuen wenns demnächst mal eine Karte aus der Gegend geben würde.
Wenn ich Zeit hab werde ich genau das versuchen. Geplant ist es. Am liebsten mit Online Routing, also nicht nur ein reiner Renderer.

eine supergeniale Idee. Genau das was ich schon lange gesucht habe. Bin gerade dabei meine Trails in OSM zu kategorisieren.
Was ich mir jetzt noch wünschen würde wäre ein eigener Online-Renderer wie z.B. bie openpistemap.org oder als Optinon in informationfreeway.org. Dann könnte man es sich sparen jedesmal dieses grausige Mapsource zu starten.

I downloaded your map (Germany) and installed it in mapsource using MapSetToolKit. Works fine with Mapsource 6.13 and 6.15 under Windows Vista. No problem to transfer the map (even combining it with contour lines) to my etrex Vista Cx.

i also have a problem installing the maps on my mac. My problem is, that the windows map converter tool doesn't finds the installed openmtbmap. During the installation of the openmtbmap on my windows mapsource installation i got a failure warning that the regestry key was not found (i use the batch file to install the maps), but i can use the maps in mapsource.
do you have any idea?

but there's a really kewl wiki dealing with osm on the mac – it worked well for me to install the osm europe on my mbp….

the gmapibuilder seems to be a nice piece of software, but freezes when i try to compile x-carvers maps…
maybe you'll give it a try and let me know if it works for you – maybe it's just my os (10.4)?

Really good idea you're pursuing here. I've been through the process to install an osm map on my edge 705 the past couple of days and it's really a pain in the a**
i think that a complete manual and some kind of support/help from one single source is really a relief.
unfo when i tried installing the maps on my mac it didn't work out. my conversion-software (.gmapi-builder / phyton) freezes when converting the mapset00.img file. the map is then erroneous of course and won't install – however, maybe i'll find some helpful peeps here to support me getting this stuff done on mac and garmin
