First of all regarding the map update. I fixed a few bugs that were introduced by the last update (allotments not shown, leisure=park forgotten in some typfiles, landuse=orchard added) and made quite a lot of POI symbols smaller, and some bigger (alpine_hut / wilderness_hut / basic_hut). The lines section stayed unchanged.
Also I included some lines in the installer, to delete the tilecache. So now no more old Mapsource/Basecamp cachefiles should exist after each installation of a openmtbmap map.
Secondly a big change regarding the license of the style-file/tpyfile – I changed them to CCBYNCSA 3.0, this has a few reasons. The main one being that I'm really unhappy with the upcoming license change to the odbl license and the completly crazy new contributor terms. I will write some more details about why I recommend not accepting it (and thereby sticking to the CCBYSA2.0 license) in future, but I fear that OSM will really loose it's main assets – being free maps by switching to the odbl license (and the possibility to lock maps by DRM mechanisms, currently not allowed).
I am currently unsure if I continue to have the style-files opensource, or not, but for right now I just changed them to CCBYNCSA 3.0. What does this mean? it is not allowed to compile OSM maps using this style-file anymore, because you break the CCBYSA2.0 license if you hand over maps produced with my styles to anyone. I'm really sorry for this step, but for the moment I prefer this, rather than close sourcing the style-file.
Strictly spoken you are not allowed to pass on openmtbmaps with a .TYP-file anymore (meaning you would have to strip the .TYP-file, making the map unusable)- for the moment I will not enact this though.
Also when the moment comes that odbl really takes over CCBYSA as license for openstreetmap.org I will not make this change but keep using CCBYSA2.0 map data. By not accepting the odbl license and new contributor terms, you decrease the chance of this happening though (if there are not enough approvals, the license change will not happen). I will then jump on a CCBYSA 2.0 "fork" and publish maps based on a new community that will be like OSM is right now, but with a different name – and hopefully a majority of current mappers that will also not accept the change to the odbl license.

Wird zu 99.9% funktionieren (halt ohne Addresssuche wie bei allen neuen Garmin GPS – ich schaetze aber mal dass dieses Problem in 3-4 Monaten behoben ist)

I think I found a bug regarding alpine huts.
This alpine hut is actually a closed way, not a node: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=45.766954&lon=6.837808&zoom=18 It does not get rendered as alpine hut on OpenMtbMap. I think that OpenMtbMap should support alpine huts both as nodes and as buildings (closed ways): they should both be rendered as Garmin POIs

Daher bitte ich dich: gib mir entweder einen Link, auf dem ich mich ausführlich über die Thematik informieren kann oder veröffentliche eine eigene Darstellung, was dir an der neuen Lizenz nicht gefällt.

die Diskussion um eine Aufspaltung von OSM wegen der Lizenzfrage macht mir Sorgen. OSM und insbesondere die openmtbmap sind tolle Projekte. Wenn sich hier die Datenbasis aufspaltet wird es wohl sehr lange nur unvollständige Karten geben. Das kann ja wohl nicht der Sinn der Sache sein….
Mir ist es wichtig dass das OpenMTBmap Projekt weitergeht – und dafür brauchen wir meiner Meinung nach eine gemeinsame Datenbasis. Wie schon von einem meiner Vorgänger geschrieben wäre die openmtbmap sicher auch Geld wert – wobei ich es schön finde wenn solche Projekte nichtkommerziell laufen und auch hoffe das das in Zukunft so bleibt.

wenn ich mir die Diskussionen um die Lizenzfrage ansehe, weiß ich nicht mehr ob ich mich im Mittelalter beim großen Schisma (Spaltung des Christentums in römisch-katholisch und orthodox) wiederfinde oder beim Karnickelzüchterverein. Ich versteh auch dein persönliches Problem mit der Lizenz nicht so ganz. Es geht doch um die Karten an sich!
Und wenn tatsächlich Apple, Google oder sonst wer daherkommen und eine Augmented Virtual Reality Show aus den Daten machen, so what? Wer's braucht, wird dafür zahlen, allen anderen nutzen die freien Angebote.
Die Ideen, aus den Daten kommerzielle Anwendungen zu machen, sind vielfältig. Aber die Daten sind ja nur eine Seite der Medaille. Was hinterher kommt, ist die intellektuelle Leistung, aus den Daten was Sinnvolles zu machen. Das weißt du selbst am besten. Warum soll man diese Leistung nicht schützen dürfen? Ist doch egal, ob jemand damit Geld verdient. Ich hätte auch kein Problem damit, dir für deine Super Arbeit einen jährlichen Obululs zu zahlen. Warum verdienst DU eigentlich kein Geld damit? Was hier geleistet wird, ist um Klassen besser, als das, was Garmin und Co. leisten!
Was ich aber sehe, ist die reale Gefahr, dass es künftig 2 oder mehr OSM Communities geben wird, mit dem Effekt, dass man entweder doppelte Arbeit reinstecken muss, um beide "Konfessionen" zu füttern oder sich für eine von beiden entscheiden muss. Damit wären diese wunderbaren Projekte (freie Weltkarte/freie MTB Karte) tot und das wäre wesentlich schlimmer als alle möglicherweise vermuteten Konsequenzen aus der neuen Lizenz.
Noch was: Der letzte Update scheint keine neuen Kartendaten zu enthalten. Zumindest sind keine von den Änderungen enthalten, die ich vor einer Woche hochgeladen habe. Warum?

Tja, genau aus dem Grund (und ein paar anderen) – bin ich auch gegen die neue Lizenz.
Ich hab neue Daten runtergeladen (Freitag Abend), DE war jedoch noch auf Stand von 26.8 von Geofabrik, evtl haengt bei denen irgendwas. Die Daten in CH sind auf jeden Fall aber up-to-date (halt uebliche 24h hinterher).
Meine Änderungen vom 25.08.2010 (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/5594517) sind in diesem Update auch nicht mit dabei. Dann hoffentlich beim nächsten Mal.
