In reply to Void. Are the colours of the map otherwise correct? I wonder if the there is also some high contrast mode like on edge devices. There should be very clear differences between the 3 .typ-file options for the contourlines.

Hello and thank you so much for all. I have tried to change TYP on Italy 20m contour, but nothing changes on the display of my GPSMAP 67. The strange thing is that in case I just copy the contours_italy20m.img file untouched it shows pretty bold lines, if I try to change TYP then the lines are displayed very faint and dotted, whatever TYP I use, even the default. Any idea?

In reply to paolo.frigo. oh and you will miss address search that way. You could also just use the gmapsupp.img downlaods, there is a bash script in the contourlines .img files to remove DEM.

The DEM is not actually excluded – it’s just made invisible. You would need to create contourlines from actual DEM data to remove it. I doubt it will be faster – but if it is you could report back. Garmin DEM is not really using high quality data – but I’m not sure about the resolution they use for the DEM. Maybe it’s more corse?
I would always deactivate showing DEM in first place – the reason to have it is for the climb preditions, and for the preview of altitude on your route. First of all showing DEM is slow, second it decreases contrast a lot so makes the map harder to read while I don’t feel it’s adding any value. Maybe on the new edge 850/1050 it will work well enough due to the high dpi/resolution display. But certainly not on the old units.

Hello, I’m new, I just subscribed premium and now trying to use the maps.
I’m from Italy and I compiled Italy Map on Linux terminal first downloading mtbitaly.exe and then by using “java -jar mkgmap.jar –gmapsupp –no-dem –description=”O-MTB IT WIDE” wideit.TYP *.img”.
I’m trying this, instead of using .img already compiled and downloadable, because i would like a map without DEM data, so I can use native Garmin DEM UE present in my Edge Explore 2 (that I hope is faster on firmware).
But this way I got a 1,7GB .img map (in theory without DEM), while the downloadable .img (in theory with DEM) is 1.6GB!
This sounds as non-sense to me, what am I misundestanding?

In reply to moser1. ups, zur zweiten Frage. Ja Fenix 8 am besten mit dem Amoled/LCD Layout. Ist ja kein 64 Farb Display mehr wie Fenix 7.

In reply to mzehnder. Hallo Markus, da ging bei dir was schief mit der Kommunikation zwischen website und paypal, dein Account hätte seit 2025 inaktiv sein sollen, da ja keine Zahlungen mehr. Der Account ist jetzt inativ.

Ich wollte Premium Unterstützung für ein Jahr abschließen, habe aber wohl aus Versehen die Verlängerung gleich mit aktiviert. Wie kann ich das ändern?
Zweite Frage: sind die Karten auch für die Fenix 8 Pro geeignet?

Ich schaffe es nicht mein Abo zu stornieren. Bereits vor einem Jahr konnte ich in PayPal die automatische Zahlung nicht stornieren. Da ich PayPal nicht mehr nutze hat offensichtlich die letztjährige Zahlung nicht funktioniert. In PayPal ist der Status in den automatischen Zahlungen “inaktiv”.
Hier auf der Website steht aber weiterhin “Du hast Aktuell ein aktives Abo auf OpenMTBMap.org.”.
Mit dem “Unsubsribe” button auf https://openmtbmap.org/de/cancel/ öffnet sich nur wieder die PayPal Seite mit den automatischen Zahlungen, wo ich keine Möglichkeit habe irgendetwas zu ändern.
Ich bitte daher mein Abo manuell zu stornieren.
