Support Openmtbmap.org Website and Map development
I spend a lot of time working on the maps, working on this homepage and working on the OSM wiki/forums in order so that everyone can enjoy nice maps for mountainbiking. If you want to support me in doing that, then please pay a bit to motivate me to continue developing.
You Get in Return (as a member):
- Quick Support via comment function ( I usually answer within a few hours, and nearly always under 2 days...)
- Exclusive maps (openmtbmap & velomap):
- Single map of Europe including contourlines of complete Europe
- North America (including contourlines): United States (5 parts), Canada
- South America country maps for most countries (including contourlines)
- Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia all including contourlines (and also a contourlines file for all Australia-Oceania)
- Contourlines for Africa and Asia country maps
- Contourlines for South-America, Central-America and Africa and Asia and more - you get contourlines for all maps offered here (all except Asia as continent are integrated and simply need to be copied into the map folder).
- Exclusive Mac OSx format maps (openmtbmap & velomap):
- All Openmtbmap and Velomap Maps are now also available for Download in gmap/gmapi format. Easy and Quick installation in Garmin Basecamp for Mac OSX.
Note1: The login only works for either Openmtbmap or Velomap, but the premium downloads are always available on both sites. You can still post comments/questions specific to Velomap in the Velomap section on Openmtbmap and vice versa (this is due to both websites having different databases. People who pay 50€ or more, may email me and I manually copy the login to both sites.)
Note2: If you paid in the past (so you already have an account) and would like to extend your membership, please login, then you will see the prices for extension/reactivation of your account!
Just follow the Paypal Button. After payment you get a link sent by mail which enables you to create an account on OpenMTBMap.org. If you don't receive an email for login within 5 minutes after sending the payment, please look into your Spam folder. There are 2 Options 1. First year support/access to downloads for €20, then € 15 for each year. You can cancel the payment whenever you like on Paypal. (needs a credit card linked to your Paypal Account.). If you don't cancel before the year is over, the payment will continue each year - It's a subscription. 2. Pay for a fixed term. 20€ for 1 year, 37€ for 2 years ... and so on. See the dropdown box. Just choose amount/time and fill out - your username/password is directly created! I actually never get your credit card data - Your credit card information is securely handled via Stripe. Also possible to pay with Visa debit and Mastercard debit card, but not with Maestro. (I'm sorry that I need to ask for your location - this is due to EU VAT laws effective since 2018). Your Account is created instantly after Payment. Sorry - thanks to the EU VATMOSS rules I cannot offer payment via simple Bank transfer for now. There is one workaround though - you can open up a Paypal Account - wire money to it, and then use it to pay (no subscriptions - one time payments only without credit card). I really dislike this situation - but cannot change it for now as otherwise my administrative burden is far too high. I'm not a fan of PayPal at all (that's why the default gateway is Stripe) - but for now there is no better possibility if you have no credit card - or don't want to use your credit card online. For people who do not want to pay via Paypal/Credit Card, I have opened up a bank account. In case you want to receive a membership please wire the money, and send me an email with your requested Username. (note as it usually takes 2 working days for the money to be credited to the bank account I will send you your login data 2-4 days later). Once the money is credited to my account, I will send you an email with your login data ( 2-4 days later). You can also put your requested Username and your email into the reference text (replace "@" with "AT" as @ is not allowed on the reference form), this makes it easier for me. (if you don't receive an account within 5 working days, drop me a mail (my email is felix At openmtbmap.org). new bank account data soon. Please don't use the old account data anymore - due to neu EU Vat regulations as of 1.1.2018 (see more about it on #Vatmoss on Twitter for example). I am working hard on offering a new solution to pay/donate via bank transfer. My bank account data is:
mapinstall no longer works for garmin fenix 7. support says it’s an outdated program and no longer works with new devices and will not even update. connecting the fenix 7 to the pc, mapinstall does not find it as a device to install the map.
how do i now, to transfer the map from the computer to the fenix 7? Thank you
you can send to an external drive / SD card first – then transfer to garmin folder on Fenix 7.
Hi,
Thanks for the maps!
I was looking around in the world of maps and became a member again.
But, as far as I can discover, not the whole world is covered.
Am I right or do miss something?
Regards,
Cor Doorten
The whole world is covered by continent maps (even Antarctica). Additionally about 160 countries are covered. For the other countries you need to use continent maps instead.
Hi, I’ve just renewed the subscription, but I can’t download maps, why?
Sandro
maybe reload the page with CTRL-F5 – or login and logout again. Your account is active.
ok, problem solved, thank you
Hello. I was just charged 18 as annual auto pay, invoice #02652. After logging in, website says my membership is expired and I need to donate. Please do the following:
1) Reinstate my PAID membership so I can have access to all the maps
2) Take me off the automatic payments.
Thank you.
Hi, you have two accounts! the active one is on https://www.velomap.org – the process for stopping payment via paypal is identical however. You need to stop the subscription in your paypal account. Link/Instructions for that are here: https://openmtbmap.org/cancel/
Grazie M. Letizia Grella
Any country which uses latin only – has only the standard map available – which is in Non unicode. However the 10m contourlines or other things are available on top. The English version is in that case only available for the continent – meaning Europe.
Hallo Felix,
Hi Felix,
I have enjoyed using your maps over the years but now age has caught up with me and I need to cancel my account, can you advise me how this is done, I hope I have helped to keep you good work going.
Steve
Hi Steve, cancelling is done by ending the subscription in your paypal account. Link/instructions are given here: https://openmtbmap.org/cancel/

Hello.
I downloaded the OPENMTB for my garmin edge 1000, but the track has a very thin line and I can’t figure out which paths to choose. What can I do?
You need to switch the track to active / trackback – then it will be wider. Or use a route instead – while routing it will be much wider. On edge x40 you could edit the theme file and make tracks wider – but on edge 1000 there is no such setting as far as I know.
Hi,
I installed Europe_18.12.2022_UC_ENG and croatia_01.11.2022
Seems like towns in Europe version does not have proper Croatia names.
Also same with Slovenian names on Europe map.
Am I missing some here?
what do you mean with proper? English of course uses english translation for any name that exists in English – or alternatively it will use intl, german, french, spanish, italian before it uses the local name. If you want local names – use the local language. The English version is meant for people not understanding the local language.
I donwloaded europe_18.12.2022_NU_Local.
On Non Unicode version there is no issue.
See screenshot.
Non Unicode version runs fine to me and I’m happy. 🙂
But for the other, if someone needs Unicode version can run in some issues.
Non Unicode will only work within latin1 using regions – so not in Greece for example. There you need unicode. And I still don’t know what you mean with issue, as far as I can tell everything is as expected.
Pay attention on names of town names.
For example, town “Opatija” in europe_18.12.2022_NU_Local has different name. It’s named “Abbazia” in europe_18.12.2022_UC_ENG.
It’s visible on screenshots.
That is the issue.
well it’s likely the first match of one of the foreign languages as I mentioned in the order.
Hallo, after many years that every maps i could installed, now when i try to intall the map, appears a notice in the middle of my desktop, (see foto in attachment) about file system error -1073741819
i?ve tried even to switch off my AVG antivirus
What’s happen?
Thank you for tue answer
The download itself is likely broken. I guess it’s the local language version? I will render it again. This message is not related to antivirus (or the problem is that on redownload – you got a cached broken version).
It was necessary to reinstall OS Windows 10 again, now its working
I’m changing my payment method as I’m about to cancel my current credit card, however I could not find the page to change my payment method. Would you please kindly tell me where I can find the billing page so that I can change my credit card info?
As you are paying via paypal – you need to add your new credit card there – then remove your old one (don’t forget removing the old one).
Hallo Felix,
Was mache ich falsch?
Vielen Dank!
Goodday,
I installed OpenMTBmap non unicode Europe in Basecamp on my Macbook pro but I don’t see anything when I open the map in Basecamp.
What went wrong?
You forgot to copy in the mapdata, step 2ab) in the osx tutorial
