Map Updates 03.06.2010

There is a new .exe installer that you can use instead of the batch files. It should be 100% compatible to the batchfiles (big difference, the uninstaller not only deletes the registry entries, but the map too). There is one drawback however, it doesn't let you choose the typfile (defaults to classic). You can later on exchange typfile by running the installer batch, or mapsettoolkit. Also I changed the traditional typfile to really look like traditional maps with low contrast. I won't use it anyhow (yuck), but so now there is a really traditional map layout for the openmtbmap. Also some more tweaks for roundabouts. If the .exe installer proves to show no problem, I will maybe change it, so it is not packed inside, but also unpacks the maps (everyone could still unpack the .exe with 7-zip as if it were a normal 7-zip archive)

If someone could send me sample code on how I can create a dropdown box for the 4 typfiles and the Nsis installer, this would be great....

Edit: Autorouting is broken in some maps. Under investigation

Map Updates 27.05.2010

First I exchanged all contourlines to solve autorouting problems that they may cause on other maps. This is due to some changes Garmin will do (or has already done in Mapsource 6.16 and Basecamp >3.0.2) to the autorouting. Installation instructions will be updated in the next few hours too.

Major changes on maps concern naming of ways which are part of routes and/or have highway shields. Also surface values are now better integrated. Also contruction=no is now handled correctly.

Also people all scripts are updated and will now work if date format includes "/" forward slash on Windows.
