Map Updates 17.12.2010

Since the last update, I run mkgmap with an experimental floodblocker - so the sea should not overlap onto the land mass. Please report in case there is any flooding or missing sea so I can tryout different parameters. Besides I adapted the trad (mapsource/Qlankdarte GT) Typfile a bit more, to show ways with sac_scale less prominent. Also some more subtle changes got carried in (e.g. nature reserves more or less transparent) and natural=rock/stone only shown if name exists and different representation of basin and some work on arrows for downhill.

BTW it's nice to see that the bing imagery is getting high use. Especially in Germany many rural areas seem to be getting lot's of attention. In other countries it'll take some more time (once Germany bing imagery is 95% traced, Germans have to look elsewhere....)

edit: national parks will be transparent on next map update.

In previous versions bridleways were not displayed on Dakota GPS. This is fixed. And another go at hopefully supporting road labels, though I doubt it'll work. I changed around a lot of linetypes hoping to circumvent potential errors. Else if you have not heard it yet, Microsoft has offered all Bing Bird's Eye imagery for Openstreetmap map tracing, meaning now e.g. in large parts of Germany and Austria there are high resolution images. This is really great and will help OSM in rural areas a lot!
