Salve, sono Salvatrek60. Ho effettuato il pagamento dell’iscrizione questa mattina tramite PayPal, ma il mio profilo mostrava ancora la vecchia scadenza. Inoltre scaricando la mappa Italia Premium (Non Unicode) del 30-07-2026 con stile “Thin”, sul mio Garmin GPSMAP64st non compaiono le strade urbane di Taranto ma solo le curve di livello e qualche sentiero. Potete verificare se il mio account e’ attivo correttamente e sbloccare il mio profilo Premium con le mappe complete? Grazie
Hi Salvatrek60, your account is active as I can see. The second problem however I need more information. Did you activate the map on the 64st in the map setup menu/map activation menu? How did you send the Italy map exactly?

Hi Jean,
I guess your browser blocks the script from paypal from loading. Alterantively some of those crazy Norton Internet Security things seem to mess with the paypal button.
Hello! I downloaded and installed correctly the Mtb_italy map on Basecamp for Mac. Now I would like to send it to my device Garmin Edge1000.
The issue is that MapInstall 4.3.6 does not detect the device. I tried several possibilities: device in “computer mode” and not.
Any suggestions? I am running on MacOS 15.7.7, MacBook Pro 2020.

You skipped this in the instructions:

You need to Install Android File Transfer so MapInstall can see new Garmin devices that don’t use mass transfer mode but MTP:

Thanks Felix for your prompt reply. I downloaded openMTP, but Mapinstall doesn’t work again. Open MTP sees the Garmin device and “NO NAME” memory card. Basecamp sees the maps on the Garmin, both on the device and memory card.
What could I do next?

you could directly use the gmapsupp.img – or use a temporary drive like an usb stick / usb hdd to first send the maps to from Mapinstall. You just need to be able to access the garmin folder on the device with finder or similar.
Thanks again for your reply. No way to get MapInstall to recognize the Garmin device or any other USB device. I solved the issue with gmapsupp.img.

How do I find the Premium Australia maps? Clicking the link only seems to take me to the “Membership Options” page.

Please reload the page with CTRL-F5, maybe you have a cached version of that site before being logged in. Otherwise try with another browser – this should not happen but it’s hard for me to know why.

okay, I will work on adding it to all contourlines gmapsupp.img downlaods. Will take a few weeks hwoever. When I designed the original one – all the Garmin GPS outdoor devices still had much lower DPI.
adding – meaning there is a difference between the other options – just not that obvious on a high DPI display.
The colors of the map are OK. The picture shows the result of applying no-typ-file on the left and any-typ-file on the right
Oh wait, I think I know understand your problem. You are applying different layouts to the main gmapsupp.img – you can only influence the layout of the contourlines by changing the layout of the contourlines only gmapsupp.img. All of the contourlines typ files are brown and dotted – but the width should be very different (1-3 pixel for minor lines, 3-5 pixels for major lines)
try this xbolIT.typ – I made it winder and thicker. Is this better?

Hello, I’m trying to have the map Alps on Edge Explore 2 in two different layout, one WIDE for mtb and one HIKING, to use them in two different profiles.
I compiled the two maps in Windows with create_gmapsupp_img_with_mkgmap.bat script. I put two different FID (6528 the first .img and 6529 the second).
BUT Explore 2 keeps on showing only ONE map in “Map Information” list (the WIDE one , that is the first I generated and put in Garmin internal memory). The HIKING map doesn’t appear in the list!
Have you got any suggestion?

That’s not possible. The individual tiles would need all different names too. What you can do to test two layouts is taking either the Italian maps besides the Alps maps, or an extract of the European map. Before remove the double map.
Hello and thank you so much for all. I have tried to change TYP on Italy 20m contour, but nothing changes on the display of my GPSMAP 67. The strange thing is that in case I just copy the contours_italy20m.img file untouched it shows pretty bold lines, if I try to change TYP then the lines are displayed very faint and dotted, whatever TYP I use, even the default. Any idea?
Are the colours of the map otherwise correct? I wonder if the there is also some high contrast mode like on edge devices. There should be very clear differences between the 3 .typ-file options for the contourlines.
