Support OpenMTBMap.org Website and Map development
Please note that I only offer maps of North America to people who have an account on OpenMTBMap. If you have an account please look at the download page while being logged in - then you can see the links and download the maps. Non logged in viewers of openmtbmap/velomap see this page instead.
I spend a lot of time working on the maps, working on this homepage and working on the OSM wiki/forums in order so that everyone can enjoy nice maps for mountainbiking. If you want to support me in doing that, then please donate to motivate me to continue developing.
So if you would like to have maps of North America from OpenMTBMap or VeloMap, please donate to me. https://openmtbmap.org/support/membership/
Attention - this page only gives an overview of the Areas covered by the North America downloads - you can download these North America maps (if logged in) from the normal download pages - as listed here https://openmtbmap.org/download/

Hi Felix,
I’m new to your site and I am trying to install Canada maps on a legacy etrex Summit HC (no sd card slot, just 24 mb of internal memory). I’m running Windows 11 and I have installed Mapsource 16.6.3}. I have downloaded the map tiles for Canada and unpacked them in C:\garmin\OpenMTBMap\canada where maps (tiles?) appear as 65370000-65370374 Disc image files. I selected “Classic” and “No contours” for the map download. In Mapsource I went to the upper left corner (Select a product dropdown) and selected “Open mtbmap_canada_01-01-2026”. I then went to “File”, navigated to the folder containing the map tiles and selected one map tile (I was unable to select more than one!) and when I tried to import it into Mapsource I received the following message: “C:\garmin\OpenMTBMap\canada\65370001 is not a valid MapSource file and could not be opened.” Have I missed something in my setup?
Thanks, Sam
Yes – I think you installed the .exe – otherwise you could not select it in the mapsource on the map selector. Afterwards you use the yellow tool to select a tile or two – and send it to the old etrex. Import is not for maps but for gpx or tracks. Maps are installed by running the .exe
I want to visit St-Eustatius (north Caribbean) have you any maps and counter lines of this part of the Caribbean?
You will need to go for a continent map.
Ho provato ad installare la mappa us west ne mio Garmin map64st ma alcune zone, tante per la verità, non vengono installate. Ho provato anche con una selezione di singole mappe che compongono l’intera mappa US west ma il discorso non cambia.
Hi, there are several possibilities.
1. Remove all other maps from the device except basemap and similar.
a) it’s too many maps
b) some Maps blocks it
2. Check what is sent. Is the map appearing on the internal memory/SD card after sending?
3. Is the SD card read correctly?
Oh and make sure you use the non unicode version. The unicode doesn’t work
